What's charcoal?
Wood or wood raw materials through incomplete combustion or, in the absence of air condition pyrolysis, then leave the remaining dark brown or black porous solid fuel, that is Charcoal. It is to maintain the original structure of wood tar and residual pores impure amorphous carbon.
According to the raw materials used ,charcoal can be divided into: ① hardwood charcoal. From the hardwood timber such as hemp Fagaceae Quercus, Castanopsis trees based, as well as minor birch spp. ② leaved charcoal. Burning charcoal from hard, soft hardwood mix. ③ loose charcoal. It made of pine or other softwood charcoal fired. In addition to use of bamboo charcoal burning and the use of husk, stone (coconut shells, Peach) and other wood materials burned charcoal pit. Charcoal stoves charged from a home is commonly known as carbon rafter. As will be mixed with a suitable adhesive, and then molding and firing the hematocrit coke made from pressed charcoal after crushing. Divided by charcoal white carbon and black carbon technology.
Chinese Shang bronzes and the Warring States era use it to smelt iron, using its hygroscopic to observe climate change. Now it can also be used as life fuel, also used metal smelting, food and light fuel, furnace smelting reducing agent, metal refining agent used as a cover to protect the metal from oxidation. In the chemical industry it often be used as raw materials to make carbon disulfide and activated carbon. Further still it still applys in grinding, various aspects of painting, makeup, medicine, gunpowder, carburizing, powder alloy.
